Privacy notice
This explains what personal information iDeals collects, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do about it. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Who we are
iDeals is a retailer of Apple products in Nairobi, Kenya, at Sky Mall, 1st Floor, Shop F1. We are the data controller for the information described here. To reach us about anything on this page, call +254 720 433 257 or email .
What we collect, and when
Only when you choose to contact us. Browsing this site does not require you to give us anything.
- Booking a repair. The form asks for your name, phone number, email address, a preferred date, and a description of the device and the fault. That is the whole list.
- Messaging us on WhatsApp. Your phone number, your WhatsApp profile name and whatever you write to us, including any product you send through from a page here.
- Calling or emailing us. Whatever you tell us in the call or the message.
We use it to answer you, quote you, and carry out the repair or sale you asked about - and, only if you separately ask for it, to send you marketing. That second use is covered in its own section below. We do not build a profile of you from any of it, and we never sell it.
Marketing emails, only if you ask
The repair form has one optional tick box. It arrives unticked and it stays unticked unless you tick it. Ticking it is the only way you will ever get marketing from us.
- Leaving it alone changes nothing. Your repair is booked exactly the same way. We will not treat it as a maybe, and we will not ask again in a follow-up email.
- What we send. Occasional offers, new arrivals and repair promotions.
- What we use. Your email address, and nothing else. Everyone on the list gets the same message - we do not sort, score or target people by what they bought or asked about.
- Stopping is one click. Use the unsubscribe page, or tell us on WhatsApp, by email or by phone - all count the same. Every marketing email we send carries the unsubscribe link.
Withdrawing is meant to be as easy as agreeing was, which is why it does not require the email address you signed up with to be found, an account to be logged into, or a reason to be given. When you unsubscribe we keep one thing: a note that you did, so you are not added back by mistake later.
What we do not do
- No accounts and no passwords. There is nothing to sign up for.
- No cookies. This site sets none at all - not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences.
- No tracking or advertising scripts. There is no analytics tag, no advertising pixel and no session recording anywhere on this site.
- No card or M-PESA details on this site. Nothing here takes a payment. Orders are agreed with us directly, and payment happens in person or through a channel we agree with you at the time.
Your cart stays on your device
Items you add to the cart are stored by your own browser, on your own device, and are never sent to us or to anyone else until you choose to send your order through WhatsApp. Clearing your browser’s site data empties it, and we have no copy.
Who else sees your information
Three services are involved in running this site. Each is listed with what it actually receives, because “trusted partners” tells you nothing.
- Web3Forms delivers the repair booking form to our inbox. What you type into that form passes through their service on its way to us.
- WhatsApp (Meta) carries any conversation you start with us there, under their own terms and privacy policy.
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces this site uses. Loading a page requests those font files from Google, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. It receives nothing you type.
Our web hosting provider stores the site and its server logs on our behalf. Beyond these, we do not share your information with anyone, and we do not transfer it for anyone else’s marketing.
How long we keep it
Two periods, depending on whether anything came of it.
- Enquiries and bookings that did not become a job - you asked, we answered, nothing followed. Deleted after 12 months.
- Records of an actual sale or repair - kept for 5 years. That is how long the law requires a business to keep its transaction records, and it covers any warranty or after-sales claim on work we did.
- Your email address on the marketing list, if you ticked the box - kept until you unsubscribe, and no longer. The note that you unsubscribed outlives that, for as long as we run a list at all: it exists solely to stop you being added back.
Those are ceilings, not targets: when a record stops serving either purpose we delete it sooner. You can ask us to delete yours before then and we will, unless it is one we are legally required to keep - see below.
Your rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019 you may ask us to:
- tell you what information we hold about you, and give you a copy;
- correct anything about you that is wrong or out of date;
- delete what we hold, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop using it for a particular purpose, or object to how we are using it.
Ask by phone or email using the details above. We do not charge for this, and we will not make it difficult. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner at odpc.go.ke.
Keeping it safe
This site is served only over an encrypted connection, so anything you send through the repair form is encrypted in transit. No system is perfect, and we will not pretend otherwise - but we hold very little about you in the first place, which is the most reliable protection there is.
Changes to this notice
If what we collect changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves. We will not quietly widen what we do behind an unchanged page.
